AY Technologies RAS 8x2 rx antenna switching syste

The RAS-8x2 is a highly flexible receive antenna switching system. With this unit, you can select among Beverages, K9AY Loops, Pennants, Flags or other RX antennas with complete flexibility. The RAS-8x2 is ideal for SO2R and most M/S and M/2 stations. It's also perfect for dual-receive on a single band. Features and Specifications: System components: • Master antenna switching unit, in a 2-1/2" x 15" x 8" (H x W x D) aluminum case • Two (2) pushbutton antenna selector consoles; each one is 1.5" x 2.75" x 5-1/4" (H x W x D) in a rugged extruded aluminum case Connection between the antenna selector keypads and the main switching unit is with easy-to-find DB-25 cables (not supplied). It's not a digital interface, just a convenient way to take advantage of inexpensive standard computer cables. Switch operation: • Up to eight antennas can be routed to two separate outputs — any antenna to either output with no interaction. • Simple pushbutton antenna selection — instant antenna change. • Independent control of each radio's external antenna input. • If you have fewer than 8 receive antennas and your radio has an 'Antenna Out' jack, simply connect it to an unused input — the selector console will then control the MAIN/AUX antenna switching, as well. • Two or more antennas can be selected in parallel for each radio (if spacing and phasing of feedlines allow them to operate in parallel). • 13 dB preamplifier/filter — two preamps per unit; one for each radio output — switched on and off at the remote keypad. Isolation: • When the same antenna is selected for both outputs, isolation between the two output ports is optimized for 40 dB or more on 160 and 80 meters. Isolation is at least 20 dB over the entire HF range through 10M. • On/Off isolation is typically 60 dB or better from 160 through 40M. Shack-LAN TenPak 2x10 Antenna Switch

I am downsizing a large HF contest station and now concentrating on VHF DXing so this superb antenna switch is now surplus to my needs. Perfect for SO2R contesting and day-to-day operating. The Shack-LAN 2-10 Antenna Switch is a self-contained unit capable of handling 1500W and routing up to 10 separate antennas to 2 radios. In order to provide the highest degree of isolation, the 10 antenna ports are split into two groups of five. By connecting antennas for adjacent bands in opposing groups (1-5 or 6-10), you can obtain over 110 db of isolation at 1.8 MHz and over 80 db isolation at 28 MHz. Arrangement of the switching system mechanically prohibits both radios accessing the same antenna. This switch is built with high quality components. All RF connectors are silver-plated with teflon insulation and gold plated center pins. All RF connectors are mounted with 4 machine screws, lockwashers and nuts, not pop rivets which eventually work loose and cause intermittent ground connections. All printed circuit boards are made from quality FR-4 material, are solder masked on both sides and have easy to read part designators. The cabinet is of steel construction for maximum strength with aluminum front and rear panels and is rack mountable to help keep it in place when many large coaxial cables are attached. This switch can be controlled manually via the front panel, via Shack-LAN Ethernet-based controls or by externally applying +12vdc to a rear panel connector for the desired antenna for each radio. When used with Shack-LAN components, you can assign up to 8 antennas per band, including multi-band antennas, and antenna selection is fully automatic allowing the switch to be placed in an out of the way location. Another great feature when controlling the switch with our Shack-LAN system is the option to inhibit one radio from attempting to select either the same antenna as the other radio or to inhibit one radio from selecting an antenna for a band that is in use on the other radio thus providing maximum receiver protection. Cabinet can be rack-mounted in a standard 19" rack or placed on your operating desk. In excellent electric and cosmetic condition - I have been busy with work and fatherhood since I purchased this switch and it consequently saw very little action.
