MFJ-817

MFJ-817 VHF/UHF Peak Reading Watt Meter This meter is in great condition but I can tell it has been around smoke if this is big issue. This meter is really clean no dents dings or chips. No scratches on case or face except on the bottom from stacking. Be hard to find one any nicer. Hooked to my Kenwood dual band shows 50 watts on UHF which is the Kenwood rating. On VHF it shows about 30 watts which is 20 watts below the Kenwood rating and I think it is the meter but I do not know. Picture can be sent with email. Price is 50.00 shipped to COUS. FS: SO2R band decoder box

This was a home brew project made from two of the KK1L dual radio band decoder boards for SO2R. One board decodes the BCD data for automatic bandpass filter selection (bandpass filters not included)for two radios. The other board does the same thing but can be overridden with a manual switch for antenna selection. I use this with the KK1L 2x6 antenna switch (not included). This has been used with two Elecraft K3s but can be used with any radio that provides BCD data for band decoding. W4RRY Battery Booster

Greetings! For sale is a W4RRY Battery Booster. Most modern ham radio equipment requires 13.8VDC +/- 15%. Once your battery drops below that range (11.73 volts) your radio may power down, not transmit full rated power, refuse to transmit, or exhibit some other strange issue (distorted transmit audio, etc). The W4RRY Battery Booster boosts your battery’s lagging voltage back up to 13.8VDC to keep your radio happy so you can enjoy mobile, emergency, or Field Day operations longer. (The target “boost” voltage is adjustable via the board-mounted potentiometer… there is a hole in the side of the case so one can adjust the boost voltage without having to take the unit apart.) The W4RRY battery booster is rated for 23 Amps Intermittent Duty. For continuous duty I’ve found that taking the top cover off and placing a small 12VDC fan blowing across the two N-Channel Mosfets and the Schottky Diode keeps things acceptably cool, even at a 20A+ load for several hours. The original owners manual will be included. Several enhancements have been made to the original W4RRY design. The enhancements are as follows: 1) Anderson PowerPoles were added to the input and output leads to facilitate easy hook-up. 2) The compensating capacitor on the IC chip was changed to the correct value. 3) A 16-pin IC socket was added to the board to allow for easy replacement of the chip should repairs ever need to be done (the IC chips are still readily available on eBay for ~$2/each). 4) The torroid W4RRY used was inadequate and would saturate. It was swapped out with the correct value. 5) Ferrite beads were added to the output leads to further filter the outgoing power. 6) Heat sink grease was added between the components that get hot (two N-channel mosfets and the Schottky diode) and the heat sink to assist in heat dissipation. 7) Lock washers were added underneath all nuts to keep things tight/continuous. 8) Insulating tape was added to the enclosure to eliminate the risk of anything shorting out in the event the booster is jarred/dropped/etc. For a review of the W4RRY Battery Booster, please visit: http://www.ad5x.com/images/Presentations/BatteryBoosterPR.pdf After the initial enhancements were made this Battery Booster has worked very well for me with no known issues. NOS-Never used. Angle Linear produces high performance bias tees for applications requiring remote tower mounted preamplifiers. These devices were designed specifically for use with GaAs FET preamplifiers. A two stage transient suppression network with reverse voltage protection is placed in the DC input path before connecting to the 50 Ohm transmission line. It uses the same high speed transient absorbers that are used in our GaAs FET preamplifiers. To date, DC protection circuits have a mean time between failure rate of better than several hundred million hours. In other words, never had a DC regulator failure in over twenty five years of production. I want 160 each for the 80 waters and 100 for the 30 watter since its of very high motorola original manufacture. These easily fit into any but the smallest of cars. I live in rosamond near palmdale but can meet you halfway anywhere in the LA area. I CAN NOT SHIP THESE as that would really cut into the 2 dollar per watt im trying to get for them. I have access for several more next month when i order 8 more, if i can get enough people in the LA area that want to go in with me i might be able to drop it to 145 a panel,but for now i for sure have the listed 3 in my posession. I am going to use the other 12 volt 80watt panels i have for my new observatory, and changed my mind for my house and am going with a 24 volt system. To give you an idea, 1 80 watt panel mounted on your roof facing south,an inexpensive charge controller and 2 6 volt 75 dollar costco golf cart batteries and you can run a typical ham station with about 2 days wiggle room in case of cloudy/rainy weather. 2 panels are even better and could keep 4 of the golf cart batteries safely charged. Pics upon request but you seen one panel you kinda seen them all. These are not the harbor freight kit 45 watt panels.Although i do have a harbor freight 45 watt solar kit that comes with 3 15 watt panels,a panel stand,charge controller with 3-6-9-12 volt taps and 2 12 volt lights i will sell new in the box for 100.00. If your lucky and they are on sale you can buy the same kit for 169 plus tax so buying my new kit saves you about 85 bucks. This is great for a motorhome,in fact all of my panels would be excellent for a motorhome or boat use. Yaesu FIF-232C CAT Interface

The Yaesu FIF-232C CAT is an outboard interface system required by some Yaesu models for interfacing the radio to a serial port of a PC. The FIF-232C converts TTL levels required by the radio to the RS-232C levels required by the computer. There is an input jack on the front and a PTT input jack on the right side. The front panel also has a power On/Off switch and a power LED. The rear panel has a RS-232C DB-25F connector. The FIF232C includes the required cable to most applicable Yaesu radios. However, the user must supply their own standard RS232 serial cable from the Yaesu FIF232C to their PC. This is a standard cable obtainable from most computer suppliers. You will need to note how may pins (such as 9 or 25) on our your serial port to obtain the correct cable. The FIF232C is 4 x 2 x 4 inches and operates from 117 VAC. Computer control software is not included. Some of the Yaesu models that require this interface include: FT-650, FT-736, FT-747GX, FT-757GXII, FT-767GX, FT-840, FT-890, FT-990, FT-1000D, FRG-100, FRG-8800 and FRG-9600. U.S. There are two major classes of aviation headsets.- First, there are the "heavyweights" which clamp the wearer's head very tightly ("like a vice," some say), and which reduce the sound of the engine to nearly inaudible levels, obliterating useful sounds, such as the stall-warning horn. Then, there are the "lightweights," which resemble the small headphones used with personal stereos (i.e. Walkman*). Lightweights are quite comfortable, but they reduce the engine sound little, if at all. This limits their usefulness in piston-engine aircraft. The Model AIR-680 does not fit into either of the above categories. It is lighter than most of the "heavyweights," and it does not clamp the wearer's head tightly like those headsets do. Distinguishing it from lightweights, its large, padded, over-the-ear muffs reduce the engine sound sufficiently for clear communications, in typical piston-engine airplanes. This "in-between" design philosophy provides what may be the perfect compromise!
