I recently placed an adv on e ham for a Steppir coil assembly and received the following response from a Joe Robin email joerbn@googlemail.com. No call was listed and by the wording of the questions, I looks to me that he dose not really know much about what he is trying to purchase from me. It also appears to be a 2nd party transaction for another person. His language also appears to be European and poor use of English. When I requested his call, address, and phone number and also that of the 2nd party, he did not response.
He may be a valid purchaser and a ham, but it appears doubtful to me. PLEASE put out the word on your site that this person (he may be using other names as well) is trying to make this type of purchase.

Joe Robbin Again
Here is what this "re-shipper" scammer sent me. Most of the time, these frauds comprise of another victim, who picks up items for sale off of craigslist, this page, etc., thinking that they have a legitimate job (hard to believe), and are paid a small fee to do so. Sometimes the pickup person is himself scammed into giving his bank account from which bogus checks are created. I am in law enforcement and you would be surprised the number of these you see. Everyone that encounters a loss (or attempt) should report this to www.ic3.gov . This is the Internet Crime Complaint Center ran by the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center.
I hope Joe Robbin gets a piece of equipment that shocks the living Hell out of him. This is the text of his reply:

Hello Jerry Abrams,
Thanks for your mail i want you to know that the price $90 is okay with me. In respect of payment i have a client in the U.S who owes me $2200. All i need to do to make payment easier and faster is to instruct him to issue a cashier check and mail it to you on the address and name you want on the check and you know it takes 24hrs for a cashiers check to clear in the U.S.
But i would want to know if i can trust you to send my balance to me via western union or money gram after the money must have cleared in your bank to enable me prepay the shipping company here so that they can instruct their office in the U.S to come for the pick-up from your location. Please mail me asap to enable me arrange payment. Furnish me with your name and address, so i will forward it to my client for payment.

Possible Fraud
I posted a for sale ad for my Nye Viking Tuner and received a response from Joe Robin that appears to be a bad money order scam. I emailed the classified

exchange with this guy. My gut says to let him go, but I would not like him to involve others. I haven't committed anything to him. If the money is validated fine,
but I doubt that it will be. It doesn't really make a lot of sense to me for the amount of money involved, for this offer not to be valid. But I don't think so. Just be
wary..

Response to my ad looking for 50 feet of 5 conductor flat rotor cable. Totally phishy! Notice the space left in between the words "have" and "available". It's a standard *form letter* for scamming victims! The combination of a full-name introduction, the extra space (described above), a Yahoo e-mail address, and a U.K. location when all combined are RED FLAG indications that it's guaranteed to be a scam. -KR4WM
