Softrock Ensemble Rx II SDR Kit

I just was lucky enough to purchase this kit from Tony KB9YIG because they usually are sold out. However, I realize I will not have time to assemble it. It is unopened and comes with printed out detailed instructions. The Ensemble RX LF/HF kit and its 4.5: X 2" board representing the culmination of a long line of Softrock SDR receivers from Tony Parks, KB9YIG. The line began with the Softrock 40 RX and went through several iterations of receivers. The most recent receiver was the All-band HF receiver with anautomatically switched bandpass filter. This current kit is a refinement on that kit and further streamlines the kitting process for Tony Parks, the designer and supplier. HF Option The Ensemble RX LF/HF kit provides coverage of HF ham bands from 160-10m, in four different optional "super bands" (each with underlap and overlap within the parameters of the associated bandpass filter): Band 0: 160m - Continuous coverage from 1.8 to 4.0 MHz Band 1: 80m and 40m - Continuous coverage from 4.0 to 8.0 MHz Band 2: 30m, 20m, and 17m - Continuous coverage from 8.0 to 16 MHz Band 3: 15m, 12m, and 10m - Continuous coverage from 16 to 30 MHz LF Option The Ensemble RX LF/HF kit provides the option of coverage of LF frequencies from approximately 160-10m, in four different optional "super bands" (each with underlap and overlap within the parameters of the associated bandpass filter): Band 0: 1000m - Continuous coverage from 180 kHz to 480 kHz Band 1: 500m - Continuous coverage from 400 kHz to 800 kHz Band 2: 250m - Continuous coverage from 800 kHz to 1.6 MHz Band 3: 160m - Continuous coverage from 1.6 MHz to 3.0 MHz The band coverage is via 4 switchable "bands" ("superbands"). Band switching is performed under program control, in conjunction with programmatic control of the receive frequency. This control is provided by an Atmel ATTiny85 micro-controller, acting as a USB device to control the Si570 programmable oscillator and automatically switch to the appropriate band (0-3) as the frequency changes. As a welcome improvement over other models, this kit provides pcb-right-angle jacks for all external connections: Antenna, USB from the PC, I/Q output to the PC, and Power to the Board. Thus, once built, the kit can be placed in a suitable enclosure and handled thereafter as a "blackbox peripheral" to the PC. The design of the Ensemble RX is very similar to the receiver design of its sibling Ensemble RXTX. The major difference is the greater band coverage of the Ensemble RX kit (roughly 4 "superbands" on the RX vs. 1 "superband" on the RXTX). Price is $55.00 plus $5.35 for priority shipping. Elektor SDR board

SDR general coverage receiver by Elektor. Does well on all modes, including DRM with required key. Your computer needs a STEREO input, usually line but sometimes mic. With that input, you only need to set up the software. Included is a USB drive with the three recommended programs, including the G8JCF version that was my preference. Without the stereo input, an external soundcard is necessary, good ones available around $15. The board was built by Elektor, and as you can see, they do beautiful work. Nomenclature is 070039-1 v1.2. I bought the board from Elektor about a year ago. Price $100 postpaid within the USA.

Softrock Ensemble II + SC

I lost my job yesterday and am looking to raise some funds so am forced to start selling some stuff, even though i don't want to. I have a Softrock Ensemble RX II and an E- MU 0204 usb sound card for sale. The Softrock is inside of the KM5H case and comes with the power chord and USB chord. It was built by Tony Parks himself, not me. The Soundcard is great, only used for the receiver. I have the original box, CDs, USB chord...etc. I also have the softrock to L&R 1/4" cable which will be needed. The SC is a full 192khz! You can use HDSDR (free). If you've never set up a SDR theres a little learning curve regarding audio drivers. But I can help you. I use it with my t43 thinkpad without a problem. This produces one heck of a receiver! Make an offer! I want to get another one someday, but getting let go from my company right in the middle of the Christmas season calls for selling stuff to stay afloat. Grundig Satellit Professional 650 w/manuals

Grundig Satellit 650 shortwave reciever. Includes original user manual, wave guide, and quick start booklet. This is the most sought after of the Satellit models, and is in good working order. In good cosmetic condition. Has 2 issues though and therefore sold as-is. I do not believe that the motorized pre-selector is working. You can hear the motor turn but dial does not turn with. Manual pre-selector does work though. Could just need a new belt not sure. Also, the radio has a issue where if the antenna is extended it will power off for a second if the antenna is touched. SALE PENDING - - -This is a refurbished general coverage Hammarlund HQ-145 (no clock), freshly aligned with weak tubes replaced. It is very sensitive and stable with hardly any warm up drift. A product detector has been added as described in the June 1997 QST article K9SOG). It provides distortion free CW / SSB reception and the S Meter works perfectly in all modes. Also, a solid state 100 KC calibrator (WB9JFR) has been included. NO additional holes / switches have been made / added. Finally, a new voltage doubler (fed by the filament circuit) provides 12 VDC for the internal relay to switch the product detector to the audio stage. This robust supply can also be used should the new owner want to install an AADE digital dial in the space where the clock would be located. All work has been professionally done - e.g. - a Greenlee punch was used to prepare the chassis to accept the 6BE6 tube socket, ample terminal strips were provided, etc, etc. The are some minor paint splotches on the front panel and a couple of small scratches on the cabinet.
