Hi All,

I picked up a Yaesu FT-950 at Dayton on Friday and it's a great radio so far. Really love the performance on SSB and CW. Now I'd like to hook it up for digital modes.

The radio has a Data port on the back that I'm sure I can use for connecting to the computer for sound card digital modes. I've looked around and I can't find a cable for it, but it's just a 6-pin mini DIN and I'm sure I could build one.

The pin-out for the interface (according to the manual) is as follows:

1 - Data In
2 - GND
3 - Data PTT
4 - FSK In
5 - Data Out
6 - SQL Out

Does this look like I can use it for sound card modes? The manual says you can use it for PSK but doesn't provide any details. If not I guess I'll have to fire up the ol' Rigblaster and go through the Mic connector for Digital stuff.

Thanks!

That is the same 6 pin, DIN, data connector pin out as the FT-100/817/857/897 radios so, a cable made for one of these should work.

Thanks for the reply!

In that case, I think this guide should do:

ebay item number 310096555041 is the cable you need. I use it with the 817 and works fine.
