I noticed today 5 HRO locations are offering their IC-7600s as "open box". Bit of a coincidence or corporate direction. This may suggest they are getting ready to set IC-7610s in their place, or it not mean anything at all.

If they in fact are "open box" then I suspect they've been deliberately opened in order that they can sell them as such without getting in trouble with Icom.  Yes, they are getting ready to set 7610s in their place and the old inventory wasn't moving at the factory-authorized ($2599) price.  We're now more a week into this "sale" and they still show inventory at several stores, so apparently they're still not selling particularly well.

Hamfest prices (Belton, TX last weekend) had some nice used ones in the $1500~1700 range (and clearly negotiable toward the end of the day). Only 1 sold that I know of.

The Pay-TV Industry may not hold the patent on poor customer service, but Comcast in particular has made an art form of it.

Anyone in TX... MTC Radio is giving away a 7610 this weekend at their customer appreciation day.

It won't be a radio, trust me...
It will be a 'gift certificate'. The radio 'probably' won't be available until early 2018.

Xmas is coming, did I tell you about my new future pair of socks? Its the same as the last pair that I wore out. I am still waiting for the perfect pair with  the best specifications  that dont wear out. At the moment I have no choice but to buy the same old crap socks that wear out. I wonder if socks and hf ham radios have something in common?

You can have socks for Xmas, but I'd rather have a radio.   Smiley

I agree. But Zenki will still be complaining about the sock's IMD and un-calibrated height,
ad nauseum.......
I hate to burst his bubble, but the Icom 8600 s-meter got some good points in the recent QST review. It has multiple functions.....

I wonder if cowards and people who hide behind pseudonyms have anything in common?

That’s a bit harsh. Zenki beats the horse, that’s for sure, but he is also knowledgeable. Some people like being anonymous, nothing wrong with that.

Thanks for the video. It’s real and shipped and just a matter of time until it hits our shores. So, has Flex shipped their new rigs?

If there and FCC ID for the part 15 emissions? I don't see it on an FCC search.

Makes you wonder why he wants to be anonymous, though. What's he have to hide?

Slashdot, for good reason, assigns the name Anonymous Coward to those who post without logging in.

Slashdot, wow, that brings back memories!  The only news worth reading, and yes they really nailed it with "Anonymous Coward"
