Hi i have had my  ic 7100 for 3 or 4 years a great radio my 2m station is developing i have got a couple of cushcraft 13b2's also i have got an older ssb electronics external pre amp. i'm wondering if you can power the pre amp through the coax or will i have to do this another way ?
the run will be about 20 -25m.
the main interest is troppo and e's with possible eme down the track

Yes, it is easily done with a power injector in your shack. It goes between your radio and the coax. You connect the DC PS to the injector. The injector prevents the DC from going toward your radio. Make sure any lightning arrestors on the coax path can pass DC (not all do).

Also make sure your preamp can switch itself out of circuit during transmit.

I found a Decibel bias tee in my truck.  Has a weird 2-pin DC plug that can probably be changed.  $50 shipped.
