hello .. to the upkeepers of eham..
why do the classifieds still load ads from 2012 Huh to me it slows down the loading and will waste of bandwidth. even if unlimited ..
i would think its sold or not for sale no more after 5 years Huh

just a thought. maybe a cut off date of say 3 months...  HuhHuh    cuts down the trash that loads... the c list site has a 45 day cut off.. works good no ??

just tossing it out there...

Agreed....get rid of the old ads.  They are just clutter.

Take a look at the 'hamfest' listings if you want to talk about not deleting old and outdated posts!!

Some folks just won't delete an old for sale posting, even after you alert them (when they email you telling you the item sold some time ago).  Not much effort involved, but I usually run into the same folks leaving postings open for months....

A thought, would be nice..hate to keep hitting on some of the same posts running a search...which should have been outta the DB...long time ago..

FYI

Our current thinking is to purge them - at least from normal searched - after a spell , say 6 months.

Q: This will happen...when...?
A: Next big site update. ;-)

I saw this post and just had to respond!
A few months ago, I received a telephone call from someone from a ham ad I posted in 2005!
They wanted to know if the items (Pair of Eimac 8874 tubes) were still available.
It was like, "Really" after 12 years??
Anyway I got a chuckle and so did the caller.

I love it when folks post and never update or delete them...its no wonder they get emails and don't understand why...
