They may not have heard you. Most likely not malice, something that you will understand once you gain more experience.

I am very careful blaming others. For me, the worst case of blaming others was when in contesting my frequency was taken over many times. Turned out it was not, and the problem was K3. When interrupting canned messages by ESC, due to a glitch in firmware, occasionally K3 would change the frequency, without showing any change on the display. Pressing A>B cleared the problem. Elecraft corrected the firmware perhaps 1-2 years ago.

In general, hams are pretty good guys.

I agree, speed and accidents go together in any sport.
I had a similar exprience to yours in a previous contest. I thought I was taken over and it was me. Something about Winkeyer and the TS-590SG would turn on RIT which was set for +5kHz. At least I wasn't  TXing on them. It still happens but clearing it to 0.00 is the top of my check list so it's not a problem.

As I wrote above, I'll stop thinking about SO2R until I'm proficent enough to do it right.

I really enjoyed the 13 colonies. I picked up a bunch of the stations, and I really appreciated those that slowed down a bit on CW as I am just not that good of a CW op.  But I sure had fun with this contest, and it is the only CW contest that I have been able to really participate in, as I just cannot copy 30wpm code.  I can't send it either... I enjoyed 13 Colonies.  My only other contest exprience was 2 Field Days. I do not see you in my log, I was K2K NH on 20m a bit but mostly 40m around 7039. I was QRO, we had a QRP at 5 watts, he had 200 QSOs more than me. He even logged a VK.

I have listened quite a bit and I'm not sure I like the destroy pounce type thing when I hear a contest.  It really turns folks off and I have yet to hear a contest person do anything respectfully.  Maybe my Antenna is to low.  Think before you key up that rice burner.

I've had 100s of CW contacts during contests and only 3 or 4 that I would call rude which is less than 1%. I'm new to CW, as result I make mistakes that tries the patience on the other end. I have found everyone to be very helpful.
