Hi KA4NMA,

I have been to both, but not for a long time.

I'd choose Boxboro because:

1. It's closer to my location (PA)

2. Last time I was at Boxboro they had some really good forums. (check website) https://www.boxboro.org/

3. The flea market at Boxboro was small and OK but the inside commercial vendor area they had a decent amount of new equipment to demo. Look at the vendor list they have and it's a nice list.

4. Shelby was good in the past but I heard last year it was much smaller than in years past. I don't know what the attendance will be this year. Boxboro isn't far from NYC (or VT) so you will get a decent amount of people there. The people at Shelby and Boxboro run a good show.

Boxboro is more of a conference than a hamfest, Shelby is more of a hamfest.

The best judge for you as to which one to go to is what do you primarily want to do at the hamfest, buy or go to forums and get information?

The bottom line? If you can, I would go to both. Life is short. But if I could choose only one, Boxboro mainly because it's closer to me.

I hope this helps,
