I was looking at the LNR Precision LD-11 when I also came across its twin from Germany, the Sky-SDR from Aerial-51.

https://www.aerial-51.com/new-sky-sdr/

On paper they look be the same but with very minor differences in specs. Looks-wise they are more or less the same unit!

Anyone used or purchased the German version that they can give feedback on?

Notes from AERIAL-51:

Doby LZ2TU designed and built the LNR LD-5, LD-11, and SKY-SDR.

The LD-5 was 1st generation and significantly worse than the LD-11 (2nd generation).

The SKY is now 3rd generation which is where they changed from single-threaded to multi-threaded firmware, plus a few other changes  (different knob, back to square buttons, louder side-tone, more volume out of the speaker, etc.).

In the meantime the LD-11 has received all of the changes of the SKY except the color of box and shape of buttons.

The biggest difference is, the LD-11 has just an average user manual.  The SKY-SDR has a more thorough manual that explains how to use the radio.

The SKY-SDR has receiver performance on par with the Ten Tec Eagle. The filters seem just as good and in almost all cases, there is about 1 S-unit lower noise level on the SKY than on the Eagle.

Thanks for that info Glenn. I had been considering an LD-5, but think now I'd spend a bit more for the LD-11.
