Hello fellow Ham operators!

I purchased the SDR Pro2...I am using the Console V3....

I have the Kenwood 590S, and my AMP is DX3 SP (A pair of 4cx1500)...

I would like to switch off the SDR, or protect it while transmitting...

Any advice?

Best

Here is what I do:
Make a TR relay that shorts the antenna input to ground and removes the input.
Another relay contact set opens the audio from the computer.
I put it in a small metal box and place it close to the sdr receiver. You can run the relay off a wall wart, 12 volt relays work fine.

That is fed off my main TR relay setup as I have a bunch of separate receivers and transmitters.

The sdr keeps working while I transmit so I can look at my signal going out.

Its very easy to blow the input parts on modern gear so you have to protect the input from excessive signal levels.
A high power transmitter can cause problems unless the antenna input is disconnected and grounded AT THE RECEIVER.
