Looks as tho we can buy 3x7300's here in the UK for the price of 1x7610.

Still can't make my mind up where all the greed/rip off  lies.

3 x 7300 plus approx. $500 left over for goodies and yet..... I have put the deposit down to get a 7610 out of the next shipment into AU.

The why is hard to explain but lets see if there any sense in the thoughts. Despite actually first passing the advanced license here back in 2013 I let it lapse and only a few months ago decided to jump back in, some paperwork and I'm again official and will literally be making my first step into Amateur Radio HF.
I was about to just order a 7300 when I started really reading about the 7610, as I've read more and more I've decided to get into contesting in some way and the 7610 started to fill the requirements better. Its all the little things, dual independent receivers, two transmit antenna, rx antenna connection, network connection, external display etc. these all add up when looking for a simple shack in a box, minimal radios on the bench setup whilst still maximising capability.
As a computer geek I lusted after the Flex series back in 2013 and the cost over here was just to high and now I want a radio with knobs whilst still having SDR capability.
I'm in the process of building/testing antennas at the moment so hope to have at least 80-10 covered by the end of the month ready for a radio. No stranger to antenna building
Do all the little things add up to 3x 7300, i guess not even close but all of them are to me worth the additional cost I'm paying for a radio I expect to own for a lot of years. Besides I'm a sucker for the latest new release!
Cheers
Phil
Looking forward to the next video Smiley

We've got the same problem here in VK, which is part of the motivation behind the videos.

My latest video is up;  the radio is on the desk and we call CQ on 40: https://youtu.be/IrChImnoGks

A few features are highlighted, such as digiselect.

I plan on recording a few in the next couple of hours, so subscribe to my channel and click the bill for notifications.

My next video demonstrates the IC-7610's dual receivers, and when and when not to use digi-select.  Bonus feature: how to compare antennas using the IC-7610.

I'm trying hard to bring out these videos; please help me by subscribing to my channel.  I need 100 subscribers and 10,000 views before youtube covers any costs Sad

Great video's. Looks like a very nice radio with a lot of interesting features even if it is a bit limited over the Flex/Anan radios.

I wonder if it has the 200 Hz audio cut off on RX like the 7300 has.

Thanks!  I'm trying to get up to speed with youtubing as quickly as possible so my videos are as professional as possible.

Im going do to a series; one of the next takes will be a menu overview.

Spoiler alert: The AF settings are the same as all odd series Icoms to date! 100-2900 or 2.8KHz is the maximum TX bandwidth and frankly disapointing.

Digi mode RX Default is 200-2700... the 200 seems fixed...

More to explore!

Thanks Mitchell, keep them coming.  I like the real time diversity feature by using both receivers simultaneously on separate antennas, that is a very nice feature.  I also like the spectrum display, way better than my IC-7600.  So far it looks good, can't wait to see more of your video reviews.

And bring on the TROLLS.
You know, the guys who hate new stuff (and can't afford it or are afraid to ask the XYL).

It's only been 11 month since I ordered mine.

What about you guys/gals???

I am waiting.  I've learned with the IC-7700 not to be an early adopter, after the final PA debacle with that one.  We'll see what bugs and gremlins, if any exist.  Kudos to those who want to roll the dice.

5 Year warranty in VK and the national office, warehouse and service center are 15 minutes drive.  When I used a radio once as a dummy load, they went right ahead and fixed it and simply told me to move my antennas further apart!  That's why I am and Icom owner...  Are they cutting edge?  No more than a Bentley motorcar...  Still, some yearn for Ferrari's...

What does everyone want to see in the next couple?

Btw, huge thanks to the people who have viewed & subscribed so far, I'm almost at the needed 100 subscribers to get a proper youtube url! Smiley
