p.47 of the IC7600 manual describes how to use the Twin Peak Filter in RTTY mode.

My question is, does this mean ONLY whilst the rig is in RTTY mode or can the TPF still be used/advantageous whilst running (MMTTY) AFSK using the rig in LSB data mode?

My filter is usually set at 400 or 250 Hz

In preparation for CQ WW RTTY this weekend.

I believe you can use MMTTY in FSK mode and therefore use the twin peak filtering.
That is what my club chairman does in the 80 metre Club Championship contests then switches to AFSK for PSK.

He says that with the filtering, he gets no QRM from close by stations

Yes, the filter can be used in AFSK mode.
