does anyone know if the Yaesu FTDX1200 has any built in scope monitoring functions while transmitting...?

If you've installed the optional FFT-1 board ($175) in the FTDX-1200, a very tiny TX spectrum waterfall will be displayed on transmit in the lower right hand side of the screen.  It's not very useful.  The FTDX-3000 shows tha same window, but the FFT-1 function is included in the radio price - it's not optional.

Forgot to add... the displayed spectrum waterfall is of your own TX audio bandwidth - it is NOT a spectrum monitor of your RF output or anyone else's.
