Thanks. I would have thought the factory takes care of that, but had read (in this thread I think) that any psu should be run for 24 hours under load before connecting to the rig. Perhaps that was referring to some of those "less than trustworthy" supplies.

Some of those switching power supplies are under 4 pounds for a 25 amp unit. There isn't any big power transformer inside, just a toroid.

Those power supplies produce girly amperes. My Astrons produce man amperes.
