This amazing value easy to build kit ($49) is a game changer, and is already bringing more people onto CW. It is free tuning, and puts out around 3W at 12V or 5W at 16V. Expect to be hearing more and more stations using these little rigs. It's great news, and here are frequencies around which we can expect to hear perhaps higher than average chance of QCX activity:

3560 (QRP frequency)
3520 (default power on frequency)
7020 (default power on frequency)
7030 (QRP frequency)
7050-7052 (slow speed, clubs, VK calling)
10116 (QRP frequency)
10118-10120 (FISTS, clubs)
10120 (default power on frequency)
14020 (default power on frequency)
14060 (QRP frequency)
18088 (is this default power on frequency, can anyone confirm?)

Find out more about the QCX here: http://qrp-labs.com/qcx.html
And read the amazingly well produced manual here: http://qrp-labs.com/images/qcx/assembly_A4.pdf
And join or read the very active groups.io emails here: https://groups.io/g/QRPLabs/topics

I'm half way through building a 30m version, and hope to later follow with a 40m (or 20m?) version.
Several other VK are also building, some of whom are new or returning to CW. Looking forward to hearing many QCX on air!

Looks interesting, I use 20M & 40M MFJ Cubs and want to fill in with 30M and the LED readout would be a treat. I will be watching for your finish build and on air operation report.

Great post with great info. My 80m QCX is almost built. I'm mulling over numerous case options at the moment so it's patiently waiting for me to make up my mind. Rather than let the soldering iron cool I've started on a 30m version of the QCX.

Thanks folks, great that many of you are also building 30m versions. A great band for QRP and at present, the best overall DX band. I'll keep you updated, should be able to finish it tomorrow, or not long after, well, not sure how long T1 toroid takes to wind, but after that it's simple to finish off, I've done all the other small components, though have to think about a case later, but it's OK without one too.

Hopefully it'll actually work when it gets switched on! I've only ever assembled an ultra Picokeyer and a Pixie, so this is a little more advanced, but even I can do it with the great step by step instructions. There's also a couple good videos on Youtube showing the build, that I watched just in case. Mind you I've learned about simple things like flying projectile components etc. so it's been educational!

My 40m QCX worked first time power-up and 30m version is on order.

A brilliant little rig packed with heaps of features all for $49, a true bargain.

Hi Gil, great video again!
Hi David, looking forward to 2-way QCX30!

Everyone, the QCX community is looking to hear about the "first" QCX to QCX QSO, at least, the first declared one! So if you have a QCX to QCX QSO be sure to mention it to the QRP Labs email list!
