Has anyone assembled a list, web page, or thread, showing which brand/model solar charge controllers are less noisy (make less RF H.F. noise)?
There are so many on sites like Amazon and Ebay, and I know that some of them must be terrible.

If there is not yet a list, web site, or thread, then can this thread be where people respond with the following short message posting;

Brand       Model#         Type (PWM or MPPT)       Amp Rating           RESULT (Bad, Too much noise, Good/Quiet, etc)

If it were me, I would build my own charger, based on the type of battery.  Of course, minus the transformer, but with a back-feed-preventing series diode.  At least for SLA chemistry, there are lots out there.

And, I'd choose a linear-based one, like the several shown in ARRL Handbooks over the years.  Noise not an issue with those.

The boards are available from Far-Circuits, including charge controller chip, for about $10.

I have pretty good luck with my Battery Tender Jr charge controller.  It is in my shack. When I originally got it I couldn't seem to find any emissions from it, but later I did hear a small very low level amount on the upper HF bands.  A couple of .1 caps fixed even this very low level rfi.  Of course this is only a small up to 40 watt solar charge controller.
