I inherited TS-590sg about eight months ago, but have only been able to use it about one day a month (I'm more active /p and /qrp, than in the shack). I have used it with no problems on SSB and CW, my usual modes. So I'm hoping this problem is as simple as a mispressed button on a console that still looks a little confusing to me.

I powered up the TS-590sg this morning. Reception is fine. I can't get it to transmit, not in any mode, not at any power setting.

The red tx light goes on, but: The lcd meter on the TS-590sg shows no bars. My external tuner doesn't get any power. I've checked and swapped out jumper cables between Txcvr and transmatch etc; no effect. I inserted an external pwr/swr meter into the feedline: The needle doesn't twitch.

On the other hand, the amp meter on the power supply ticks upwards when the mike button is pressed or a tuning signal is sent (even at the five watt pwr setting).

Any thoughts on how to move forward with the troubleshooting.

tnx,

David

i once had antenna 2 selected by mistake with no antenna on that port with similar results as your having, swr on the rig meter was rather high Smiley  might be worth a check.

Problem solved, by doing a microprocessor “full reset”. Cause still unknown. Thanks, David
