I just acquired an AEA CK-1 keyer and I have no idea what the power supply requirements are or how to operate.  Does anyone have a manual or can anyone provide some information?  Thanks!  Russ WA0TT

Needs an adapter of more then 5 Volt. 12 VDC is OK.
internaly there is a 7805 voltageregulator, so it doesn't matter what voltage you give to the CK-1, as log as it is between 6 and 25 volt

The 7805 requires an input voltage at least 3 volts higher than the 5v output.  12v will do but I wouldn't go much higher than that.  This excess voltage will be dissipated as heat in the regulator.

Some pieces of gear provide an ample sized heat sink for this is many cases there is no heat sink at all.
