Hello, gang, Rick, N9GSU in Indiana here.

The more I read about APRS, the more confused I get.

There appear to be so many ways to go, and I realize I'll probably get more than one answer, and that's ok.  I need the input!

First of all, I'm looking for more than just a transmitter...otherwise I'd just go the easy and cheap way out.

I'm looking for a mobile/portable set up.  Mobile, for when I'm traveling, and portable, as I'm an avid cyclist and would like to run APRS from my bicycle.

At first glance, it appears something like the VX-8R would be the logical choice, however, I already have a mobile rig, an HT, and a GPS.  (Garmin Etrex among others....I'm a Geocacher also).  Oh, and a laptop. Smiley

Any suggestions?  Something I can switch easily from the mobile to the bicycle?

Thanks,
Rick

The cheapest and easiest way is with the one way trackers from Tiny Track, Buxcom, Fox Delta. Check out their web-sites. Some are fun type kits and others are plug and play.
