Certainly the Flex 5000A, with the new PowerSDR that we nicknamed Pretty Betty. On a 24" LCD monitor it's beautiful.

Collins KWM-2 and the Elecraft K1. Both are straight forward, simple yet elegant designs. (The K1 looks better in real life than in any photograph. The KWM-2 looks good either way )

Used to drool over the 'Signal One' rigs when I first got licensed in the 70's. I think this one came out in the early 80's or so. http://www.hamanuals.com/S1/MSC_root.html

Tempo Model 2020. What a contemporary classic, cosmetically and functionally!
Just ask me, it's the only HF rig I've ever owned...purchased it new in '77!

One receiver I have never owned but always loved the look of is the HQ-170. Even as big as it is I still like the looks. For operating and looking great at night, the Drake TR4C with the RV-4 is my favorite. The new radios although functional and so much better than the "oldies" still lack a certain romance I think. I may never own a Drake again but they are still tops for me. The Swan 100MXA that I have looks good and can't be beat for simplicity! Frank

I love this new Icom IC-756 Pro-III. You can get these at a bargain now with the new 7600 coming out.

Though I've never owned them, but lusted after them after getting licensed (but could never afford them)---the Drake twins (2-B, 2-C) get my vote, but for the moment and for the past 26 years, my trusty and quiet Icom 740 (ham band only) gets the nod--- "such is life"---73---Ernie

Correction on my posting above. I meant the Drake 4B or 4C 'twins' and not the '2B' series. Ernie---VE3GNU
