As of today I have retired KD5ILF.  It is now AC5WA!  Well, at least until further notice.

Good luck to all of you who are still waiting.  I got mine in only 41 days.  That's still a little less than the six weeks my first liscense took.  Don't give up if you are still waiting.  There is yet hope!

Thanks to the Laurel Maryland VEC.

I passed element 4A on Feb. 12, 2000. On March 11, 2000, I took and passed element 4B. I, then, turned in my CSCEs on April 15th at Smithfield, N.C.. My paperwork arrived at Newington, CT (ARRL/VEC) on April 27th. I just received my grant in the ULS database today (June 7th). This is a wait of only 53 days (just over 6 weeks). Good luck to those still waiting and hope you don't have to wait much longer.

I attended a paperwork VE session for my General on April 17 and my upgrade was granted June 1.  The upgrade took almost as long to grant as my original Tech ticket in 1995.  That took exactly 2 months.

Let not forget the process here... Once you pass the exam, the VE paperwork (typically) goes to that VEs VEC (Volunteer Examiner Coordinator) where it is logged, cross-checked, and verified.  The VEC then keys the data into a database and that data is transferred electronically to the FCC.  FCC is now (again, typically) issuing the licence document overnight the day they receive the transfer.  I passed my General on May 11 and my license was posted on the ULS June 10, the paper showed up in the mail-box yesterday (June 22).

The ARRL has been processing something on the order of 30 to 50 exam session packets (some 1000 applications) every day for the last couple of months.

I did my General Upgrade on 4-15-2000, FCC posted on 4-21-00, license in mailbox on 4-29-00.  Very good response, the VEC's, the mailing by the VEC's, posting and return mail.
Will be doing my Extra Upgrade the second Saturday in September, 2000. More later....

When I first got licensed in '95, it was a 10-day wait to get the ticket.  But when I upgraded to advanced, I waited a little while to apply for a new sequential call sign.  I went throught the ARRL-VEC for the call sign change.  Stuck the application in the mail on a Wednesday (from Delaware) and on Saturday a.m. the new call was in the database.  Great service!

I passed my exam on the 19th of Jan. 4 days later, my call sign popped up on the fcc database. 2 weeks later, I got my licence in the mail! 73's to all.
