The instructions in the manual didn't work. Thanks.

UPDATE 9/12/11 - Just dug out this ht again and was programming it and happened upon a way to adjust the squelch which is as follows...
1. Press (FUNC) + (STEP). Release both keys and press (SQL OFF) twice.
2. This should be setting 3 which is squelch. Press the up or down buttons to choose a setting of 0 to 7.
3. Press (FUNC) + (STEP) to return to VFO Mode.
