Hi,
I need some help in finding out the replacement value for a Kenwood 440SAT that was damaged by UPS enroute back to me from the Kenwood repair facility.
I know the sender had insured it, but UPS has informed me that because "I" did not send it, I was "out of the loop" and could not be given any information regarding the damage issue.
The unit was returned to the repair facility and their feeling is that it most likely will not be repairable, which leaves me without an HF unit, and clueless asto what I am facing as far as value wise.
   Any help will be appreciated.

ASP, which would be replacement value, for a TS-440S/AT locally here in southern California is ~$400.00.

This is the price they sell for a virtually every Swap Meet in So. Cal., and we have several monthly events so I see them all the time.

You might check "sale history" on eBay, to see what that comes up with.

Thanks Steve, I kind of figured I would lose money if it was not insured, so I requested $800.00, I hope I can at least recover the $600 I have spent though.
I noticed your from N.J. me too, I lived in Newark, went to West Side High but moved to Ca in 1956.
Well, 73 and thanks  Ron N6VQQ Sacramento

Hi Ron,

My dad went to West Side High, from 1933 to 1936, and then to NYU before he joined the Army the day after Pearl Harbor (which I guess 3/4 of the men in America also did!)...when did you attend?  Dad's name was Jack.

I have a working TS 440SAT, and value it at $450.00
I have seen them sell for $250 to $500. Mine has a few scratches, but all functions work.

Good Luck, 73  N7AOB
