I want something smaller than my old Grundig Satellit 800, but something just as versatile...So, what is the best shortwave that isn't huge like the 800?

If you're looking for something portable which is still capable of receiving SSB and possibly CW take a good, long look at the Degen 1102.  It's is quite a bargain for what it does.

If you can find one, consider the Sony 2010.
