I was trying to work RTTY on 10.140 last night when the most awful wide band noise started up. I'm sure it was man made as it seem to start just above the CW on 10.120 and cover everything up to 10.150
About an hour later it stopped and I discussed it with a CT2 station who could also hear it... about 21:00 it started again.
Did anyone else hear it, does anyone know what it was?

It was most likely a primary user such as the government in various countries, used as time calibration frequencies, seismic information and lots of other stuff.
