I am thinking about buying a 2002 Ford Escape small SUV.  I would like to run 2M and 440 and also HF.   Any information would be appreciated on RF problems with this vehicle, best way to mount an antenna and get DC power etc.   Thanks.

I have a RF problem with a 2002 ford escape,
noise is most apparent in 2M but some on weak
440 signals.
Noise is being radiated by the vehicle, pick it up
on HT as well as mobile rig. Tried a noise suppressor
on the battery leads first, no luck.

There is a great Escape site you should check out. Look at www.Escape-Central.com more info than you could ask for about the Ford Escape and all the Escape Accessories that you can add!

I picked up a new 2002 Escape Sport last week and installed my Yaesu FT8100R and haven't had any problems with noise at all.  Install went very easily.  Mounted the body of the radio in the cargo net pocket in the rear, and tapped into the 12V line behind the utility outlet.  Works great!!
