I I would like some feed back on what type of mount base can I place on a 4runner for a dual band vhf uhf antenna, besides drillling through the roof which I dont want to do. and where to palce it?

If you just can't bear to drill a hole, use an angle bracket off of the finder. Not ideal, but better than none. Look under Installs on my wen site.

Emilse,
   I have had reasonably good luck using the mount system Alan describes on two different vehicles. Just remember good engineering practices when installing it and verify good grounding of the bracket and while it wont be 'perfect', you should have no major problems at all.
