So I just got this radio from my dad but I don't have the manual yet. I won't get it for a week. I've pretty much figured everything out about the radio just by pushing buttons but there's one thing I need confirmation on before I can really use it.

My antenna is a hack out of television ladder wire that is in the same room as I am. This pretty much prohibits me from transmitting on anything but low power. My question is how do I know that it is on low power. There is a button maked "Low" and when I hit it, the display will show an "M", "L", or nothing at all. I'm not an idiot and I'm pretty sure it's the right button, but then again I don't want to start cooking my noodle.

Thanks and 73,
Andy (K8DJK)

No indication equals high power. M and L speak for themselves.
