After owning an FT-1802 (2m only) mobile rig for a while now, I grew quite used to using shortcut keys on the mic -- both the "P" keys at the bottom and the ABCD keys on the side.

I just bought an FT-8800 dual bander and from what I can tell, the ABCD keys don't do anything except DTMF tones. Is this correct? If so, that's highly disappointing. Literally lose half the hotkeys! And I bought it as an upgrade from the 1802 -- pretty aggrevating.

Someone please let me know if this can be changed (either by programming or mod). I would love to have hotkey functionality back to the ABCD keys, even if it's fixed (not variable) the same as the 1802.

The 1802 is fixed as A=MHz & Set menu; B=Rev & Dual Watch; C=Power Level & (I forgot); D=VFO/Memory/Home & Memory Write.

I know I can program the "P" keys with these funtions, but I want to use them for other things. Thanks guys!
