Well, you took enough time to figure out if you could, but you didn't think about whether you should.
The problem with most power mods, little thought goes into the necessary overhead the final transistors must have to handle over loads, high SWR, etc. The net result is, the IMD, and the resultant splatter and distortion, make the rest of us wonder why anyone would mess up an otherwise decent radio.
