Yaesu FTM-10R Anyone?

Hi guys

I had the FTM-10R for Christmas intended to fit into my Ariel Atom car - an open top sportscar.

I'd be really interested to hear from anyone who has experience of this transceiver in particular the bluetooth & intercom facilities.

The introduction of Bluetooth to an amateur transceiver will have long-lasting effects on safety, if nothing else. However, in this case there are several drawbacks, and one of those is the requirement to use VOX.

Whether it is mounted on a motorcycle (which it was designed for), or in a convertible sports car (your case), don't expect too much from the Bluetooth in VOX mode. As a wired unit, it is on par with the rest of the Yaesu line.

Sorry for the delay in replying but I've only just started the process of installing the rig in my car. I'm at a halt just now as I'm sourcing some waterproof CAT5 connectors.

As you can tell, I'm not in any desperate hurry!

I've only powered the rig up yesterday and a few observations:

1. The clock gains time - 3 minutes overnight.
2. The temperature shows 33c - in the UK we don't get that in the summer!

These are minor 'problems' but problems I'd like resolved anyway.

As I proceed with the installation I'll update this thread.
