Is there any way I can filter out the man made noise while driving round our city operating mobile.

I have virtually no noise and the meter on my 706 hardly  moves on a clear freq, but when I am in a built up area it often reaches s7 to s9 and I just wondered if there is any way to cut this down a bit.

Many thanks again for looking and I look forward to reading the replies as usual from my posts and questions which I have always found useful and a great help.

Not much you can do about it. The noise limiter might help a little, but I don't find it helps much with such a high noise level in built up areas. As soon as I get out of the residential area and into the commercial area on my way to work, I experience the same thing - S9 noise. Drive two or three blocks away and its quiet again.
