Kenwood no longer sells the replacement kit. Anybody out there got one?

Gee, all this time I thought it had a EEPROM for memory backup.

If there is a battery, it aught to be easy to fix, kit of no kit.

The original Kenwood part number is W09-0515-05.

An equivalent is available from Mouser.com  as part number 639-cr2430-p1-2.  

This info was gleaned from the TS-50 Yahoo Group, which you might want to join. There are a lot of members with experience in repair and mods to this rig. This rig has been around since the early 1990s and most of the issues and questions you may encounter have already been dealt with by someone in the group.

hi John,

yes, easy to replace, it is on the bottom of the radio,
you can peek at it from the vent openings.

once you replace the solder in battery,
you must power up and down the radio or
you will discharge the new battery.
