Hi all,
Had my rotor die on me today and am trying to get back on the air ASAP. I have a rotor I dragged out of the closet. Took me a couple of hours to research exactly what it is. Finally found it in a 1960 QST. It's a CDR
Ham M.
Problem is, this rotor and control box is as old as I am. I have no idea how to wire this thing. I DO know that the control box is 8 wire, and that 2 of the wires are thicker black and red (probably power).
Anybody have a manual from way back when? Did Hy-Gain
buy CDR? Thier rotors like the ham IV look identical.
Any help is appreciated. I CAN"T TURN my beam.

yes...hygain bought out cdr and now mfj owns hygain..so my guess is that it is compatable with your other rotor.  Maybe you can take the broken rotator apart and salvage parts out of the other one.  I have fixed my ham-m3 several times.  they are easy to work on.  I have a manuel if you need one.  Let me know and I will copy it for you.  It shows a breakdown of the inside parts.
