I have had this radio for years with no problem
other than typical rf problems which may be related.
It appears that the volatage regulator is clamping
at around 11 volts rather than 13.8.
I lived in the desert for some time and maybe the
heat might have damaged it.
I was able to open the case which I have done many times before, but cannot do much as the schematic
may be lost.
Also my shack is literaly that,,, a shack! till I can
afford an apartment.
I was about to practically give it away here on classifieds till my repair insticts got the best of me!
Can I download a schematic here?
If anyone knows what board the reg is on it would help.
I can see an (green)7805 heat sinked to the case but I don't think this is it as I sprayed coolent on it and it had no effect.

Found a schematic you can download, scroll down to the Kenwood section of the page: http://hamradio.online.ru/sch_eng.html
Also one on: http://www.19sd020.com/schematics2.htm You will need the DJ Plug-in also.

Oh thank you for the reply!
unfortunately the downloads don't work with the
library computer and I do not have my own pc.
Keep an eye on the swap (hf radios) for a TS-120 for practically nothing!
Unless my swap listings keep going away for some
unknown reason.
