The encoders attached to the multi-function knobs on both ny Alinco DX-70s and my Kenwood TS-570 'skip' settings and sometimes make selections in the opposite direction I am turning the knobs.

Is there something easy I can do to relieve this situation?

Thanks,

Lon

Unfortunately there isnt a really easy fix for it, perhaps thats why im the first to comment, and i havent been on this site in a litte while to have posted sooner.  Although opinions vary, you may be able to clean them out, but even if you can it doesnt always last as a permanent fix.  What i would do, if at all possible is replace them, then you wont have to worry about them causing trouble for a long long time to come.  I battled it out with faulty one on a Yaesu mobile last year, the radio had been run mobile, and it was most likely dirt that got into it, after attempts to clean it helped but only lasted short periods of time until it had to be done again i decided to replace it, and its still working like new after half a years use.
