Guys,

Have a question... Do I need to ground my MFj-993 auto tuner to the ic-706? I'm running a G5RV.

Thanks for the help

Hi,

I am running a modified G5RV (ZS6BKW) and my tuner has a separate ground braid to where the ground comes into the shack.  It is not as good to ground one piece of equipment to another.  Of course your tuner and rig grounds are connected through the coax outer shield between pieces in any event.  The separate ground braid shortens the path to actual ground (cold water pipe, 8 foot stake etc.)
