I've been mainly a CW op, but lately started using SSB some.  My microphones are all handheld variety, and don't operate phone enough to buy a desk mic.

So how do folks hang up their microphones when not in use?  My microphones all have attachment to hang them on "something", but what and where?  Now, mine are just laying on the desk in the way.

I use a Heil headset and hang it on a peg on the end of the rig's shelf.

When I used a hand mike, I just laid it on the desk, although you could hang it in just about any out of the way location. It all depends upon your particular physical setup.

Mount a mike hanger on the desk.

You have to be creative.

I hang them on a belt clip.  This way, I'm attached to the rigs via the mike cords.

"Honey, I'd love to help you out in the kitchen...but can't you see I'm tied up?"

If you're real gutsy you ask the wife to stand there and hold the mikes for you :-)  Honey, hand me the 2M mike - now the HF mike.

My "Good" Radio does have a desk mic, I have a mic hanger for the VHF/UHF mobile-base mic and the others don't get much use so are just tucked away on top of their respective rigs.

If I'm using a particular radio, then the mic just gets laid down on the station tabletop.
