Hey Guys,

I had a concrete truck come out. I now have a yard and a half of concrete holding my tower in place.

I have an old section of Rohn 25 that is encased by the concrete. It acts as the base attatchment for the tower.

How long does it take for this concrete to cure well enough to finish assembling the tower ? I have been told 2 weeks and or 30 days. I am willing to wait the 30 days, but don't want to if it is not nessessary.

The tower is bracketed to the eave of my house at 10 ft. and will be 40 ft tall when finished.

Thanks

Curing time can vary but for the normal mix (which is probably what you got) it takes 28 days to reach about 90% of its strength.  It continues to slowly strengthen for years.  (the strength curve looks a bit like the charging curve for a capacitor)

I've always waited for a month just to be sure.

Al,

Thanks. I'll wait 30 days then. It's no problem as I have a lot of things to do anyway.

I need to raise a 40' pole at the back of my lot for the other end of my wire antenna. So a little more concrete work is in order.

Thanks
