Not to detract from the accomplishments of the many young hams mentioned in this thread...
But the youngest hams to hold callsigns were in Jordan. During the reign of King Hussain (JY1) many members of the royal family were issued callsigns at birth. I have no idea how many of them actually got on the air, however

So let's restate the question: Who is the youngest ham to earn the license by actually passing all the required tests? 73 de Jim, N2EY (licensed at the ripe old age of 13)

I remember in the ARRL handbook 1984 or so of a 4 or 5 year old as being the youngest ham. I also remember looking him up years ago on QRZ and he was a young adult, and was only a technician. I supposed his dad pushed him to get his license, just for the prize “for dad”. But evidently he had no interest in amateur radio.

Today, I had a QSO with W0ANT, Anna in Colorado. She's 12 years old and pretty darn good with a key. Her dad is N0AH so maybe you could email him to setup a sked or something.

No longer concerned with who is the youngest ham, I just want to live long enough to vie for being the oldest ham.

Hello! I am ten years old and I got my license at six. I then got my General at seven. I am now working on my Extra and hope to get it before my eleventh birthday. Just my two cents!
73 hope to work you, K2CLH

I'm a VE, and I remember a young girl around 9'ish or so who came to a test session at our hamfest. What was curious was that she had passed the code element, but was having trouble with the written (element 2). I would have personally thought it would be the other way 'round.

Check the Feb. 2013 issue of QST. On page 99 there is an article about a 6 year old girl (a complaining article) who passed her test. Her call sign is KD0PLJ. This is the youngest ham I have heard about in my 50+ years of ham radio.Congratulationsns to Priscilla, both her parents are ham operators.

Her dad is N0AH so maybe you could email him to setup a sked or something. Naw! He's probably too busy building boats!

My uncle administered a general exam for an 8 year old who made passed the exam. That's been a point he's brought up numerous times since I got licensed at age 14 and still haven't upgraded from tech.

My 2 year old is showing some interest and I have to watch out as he has learned. to turn on my radios and how to change the channels and "looks" for signals on the waterfall if I am running DM780 on the computer, AND he has learned that I unplug the radio at the powerpole from the power supply and will plug that back in as well... So I have learned to take the mic off and take that with me. He is fascinated and hope he keeps the interest that he can pass his test when he can do it.
