Greetings all,

I've been thinking of using my laptop for PSK work.  My new fast super duper laptop does not have RS232 jacks on it, only USB.  Nor does it have Line in for audio.  Is anyone out there using external soundcards and or USB converters to do PSK ?   Just curious

yes, there are USB sound cards - check out SoundBlaster / CreativeLabs. Also, serial to USB adapters for control.

There has been a very active discussion on the ham-radio-deluxe yahoo group recently about external sound cards.

I didn't have a serial port on my HP so I bought an Aden USB to serial cable adapter. It worked well with PSK. The line in jack may not be there but it should have a microphone in jack that will work as well.
