With the advent of all the neat stuff you can do by connecting your sound card to your rig, I was wondering if anyone had thought of using a computer equipped with a soundcard and a voice modem or something to act as a phone patch?  I did a search on the terms one would expect would turn up such a beast, but to no avail.  So am I full of crap for thinking such a thing could ever work?  If not, has someone pulled this off?  Or am I stuck with having to buy an actual phone patch in order to have that capability?

Thanks & 73,

My guess is that since the usage of phone patches is so low that no one has bothered to take the time to implement such a configuration.
