Hi guys,

Does anyone know if the ARRL has decided to accept eQSLs for awards (WAS, DXCC, etc)? The last I heard they didn't, but that was a while ago.

CQ does and they have some nice awards. Don't think there is a way for the ARRL to do it yet.

ARRL does not accept eQSL for their awards -- only their own Log Book of the World (LoTW) electronic QSL system.

Sign up for it at:
http://www.arrl.org/lotw/

There is no charge to use LoTW and you do not have to be an ARRL member.

There is a charge to apply for awards via LoTW, just as there is with paper QSL cards.

Hi Guys,

Thanks. I am both an eQSL and LOTW member. I've been an ARRL Member since I was licensed in 2000.

Once I got LOTW set up it was easy to use with my logging program.

I'll check out the CQ Awards.

With what they have invested in developing and maintaining LOTW, I doubt the ARRL would even consider allowing eQSL for their awards.

eQSL issues its own version of the Worked All States award. But, no, ARRL doesn't recognize eQSLs -- just paper cards and LoTW electronic confirmations. But CQ magazine now has an agreement with eQSL whereas the eQSL QSOs with Authenticity Guaranteed can be used to obtain the Worked All Zones award. You do it electronically or do a hybrid application with some EQSLs and some paper cards to get your 40 zones confirmed. The info is on the CQ web site.

I have LoTW. The setup was a pain in the ass, but once the initial setup is done, it's a breeze. Highly recommended.

The ARRL does not accept eQSL. For that reason, I just don't bother.
