Guest

« on: February 27, 2010, 07:25:57 PM »

Greetings and hope all are well.

I received my Technicians Class license in January and am not 100% certain as to what Bands are available to me. Near as I can tell I have access to:

80
75
40
15
10
6
2
1.25
.70
.33
.023

At this time my needs are strictly phone.

Thanks in advance for a great Site and your help!

Best,

Lyman

Please refer to the rules!  A summary is at this link:

The only bands you have  phone privileges on are limited on 10M, and full privileges on 6 meters and above.

For phone you are pretty much limited to 10m and above.

Time to upgrade!

Glad to see we are all using the same references Smiley

I know a lot of people are thinking it too -

How the heck did you get a ham license without knowing what your frequency and mode priviledges were??

I came across some very old study notes re available bands and while they didn't seem right I wasn't 100% certain, hence asking for the clarification.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Probably Q&A book. The first thing I did after I passed all the way to General was to go to Staples, and get a color copy of the bands and laminated it. Cost was like $2. The funny thing was, I did not have a rig for about 3-4 months after I passed.

The bandplan can be a little confusing. I am not sure why the advanced are not grandfathered into the Extra freq, and the advanced people had it tougher than today's extras. That might make the bandplan less confusing.
