If they'd put in a ferry you could go to AES in Cleveland... :-)

I grew up in Erie, PA and started hamming there, and I never heard of anyone heading to Buffalo to go to a ham radio store, though many would drive to Cleveland to go to AES.

hi,

the exchange rates are not what they used to be.

some banks will charge you an additional fee when
using your credit card for currency conversion.

I live in the Buffalo area and know of no amateur radio stores around here. The last time I went to a store it was AES in Cleveland. Since then it's mail order for me. Seems like upstate New York is a desert for things like this. Actually, for lots of things besides ham radio.

Anyone know of a ham radio store in upstate New York? i.e. Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, etc........

Not for years. Used to be Adirondack Radio in Amsterdam, Fort Orange radio in Albany, and a ham store up near Rome at the airport as I recall. Downstate in NYC and LI.

I don't think there is a single, solitary store in all of NYS any longer.

There are a lot of things no longer in NYS...except scheming politicans.

Ham radio stores in buffalo, NY:

1) Hirch's Electronics (www.radiomart.com, no, not that Radio Mart).
2) Radio Equipment Corp (www.radioequip.com).

Two that I know of off hand.  There's a couple of places that I also go to for "odds and ends" things.
