Can the Yaesu FC-40 be used on the Yaesu 840?

My guess. No  The FC 40 was designed for the FT 897/FT 857. The interface the two radio series has changed and most likely not work well together.  The FT 840 uses or used the FC 10 and FC 800 tuners.
