I am planing to purchase a new laptop. This laptop will be used for ham radio and other family functions. I run up to 1200 watts and right now I am using Ten Tec gear.

My question is this, what brands will have the least interference to the radios and from the radios?  I am leaning toward IBM as I can buy them through  work.

Thanks

I haven't had any problems with laptops and RFI.  I use Dell's and have an old (Pentium II) laptop at the ham station.  Beware that the new laptops don't have serial ports, so you'll need a USB to RS232 adapter.  My Intel Duo Core Dell can run ~ 8 hours off the battery.  If you want it to run for a while if the power goes out, then make sure it can run off the battery for a while.  I hope this helped.
