Took my Ten Tec Jupiter to their plant yesterday for a problem updating firmware. Could not get the driver for the interface cable to install after downloading. Thus update was impossible.
Thought I'd be leaving it for a while and have to come back and pick it up in several weeks, but not so. They updated the software while I waited and saved me a 90 mile trip!
Thanks guys! (OH YEA THEY DID IT AT NO CHARGE!!!)

Lots of companies are doing this to improve customer service and gain loyal customers.  Glad to hear stories like this as service like this is a win-win situation for both users and companies.  Great job Ten-Tec Cheesy

"Lots of companies are doing this to improve customer service and gain loyal customers." Not Yaesu! They want your credit card number upfront before they even "assess the problem" at $80.00 an hour. After its over, you will owe them more than the equipment is worth. They have become a disposable equipment dealer. If it breaks after warranty, throw it away and buy another or better yet, don't buy from Yaesu. As a matter of fact, I have decided to list Yaesu on Rip Off Reports.com Grin

I would like a list of the companies that provide good customer service like Ten-Tec. I don't know who they are. I am talking about after warranty service! As far as I know, Ten-Tec will be the only choice for my next HF rig. Undecided

All around Ten Tec is a great company to work with.  Purchased a PTO rebuild kit last month along with some various small parts and the process was seamless.  Talked with a real person in the service department and he gave me some tips and pointers on the project.  Now this is for a 25 year old Argosy that's been out of production for years.

This is so amazing to actually talk to someone who knows what he's talking about, and by the way, the conversation was not recorded for quality purposes.

This is how a company makes, and keeps, customers.  In my book Ten Tec deserves a 10 for quality of product and equally for quality of service

I'm a happy Omni-VII owner, and have never looked back.  Ten Tec is an excellent company to do business with.  I hope to go on a plant tour someday!

Ahhh Ten-Tec.  I was in the Smokey Mountains on vacation this past May.  Our cabin was only 400 dollars for 6 days and five nights...  That is cheaper than the highway motel fleabag places!  The best part was we were only a 15 minute drive from the Ten Tec factory.  Did I take the tour?  You bet.  Was it amazing?  Absolutely!  Were the employees at Ten Tec everything a GOOD G R E A T company should be?  Simply put, TOP SHELF!  Even the guys in the service department were all smiles and easy to talk with.  Just some really great folks working there at Ten Tec.

My next major rig purchase will, with no doubt, be a Ten Tec.

Big fan of Ten Tec here as well. Bought a used Jupiter, updated the firmware one increment up, tried next the increment, and the radio never 'came back'. One phone call and Ten Tec had a rescue chip at my door in two days free of charge, plus they were very patient with me on the phone while I obsessed about how to use the rescue chip properly.

Of course all the great service in world doesn't amount to a hill of beans if the radio isn't any good. Fortunately, the product is as good as the service.

Don't forget the Ten Tec hamfest this month, last Saturday of Sept.  It is a great hamfest sponsered by a great American company.

See you there,

Dave

Ten Tec has outstanding service folks. I have talked to them several times about service issues and they have trouble shot over the phone and email to avoid shipping equipment back. They are top notch. I currently run a Centaur amp with my K3. I have owned several Ten Tec rigs and other items. Ten Tec and Elecraft are the most response and customer centric companies I have ever encountered. American quality and service.
